Tibet is an extraordinary travel destination, so much history and mystery. Potala Palace is one of the most recognized and beautiful structures in the world. Located in the ancient capital of Tibet, Lhasa, the place was once the residence of Dalai Lama until the current Dalai Lama fled to India after 1959 Tibetan uprising. With over 1,000 rooms, Potala Palace is a major tourist attraction today and is the best place to have a fantastic birds eye view of Lhasa. The palace is named after Mount Potala, the mythical abode of the bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. Its construction started in 1645 and took 3 years. The building measures 400 metres east-west and 350 metres north-south. It contains the living quarters for Dalai Lamas and houses great amounts of rare cultural relics including hand-written golden Buddhist scripts. The palace is 14 stories tall, and the visit involves climbing a lot of stairs up and down.
Why visit Costa Rica? : The Arenal Volcano National Park is found in the rugged Cordillera de Tilaran and is one of the top volcano viewing areas in the country. The main attraction in the park is the Arenal Volcano, reaching 1,633 meters. It looks just as one might imagine a volcano; a cone-shaped mountain with huge ash columns streaming from the crater. Arenal was dormant from 1500 AD until a massive eruption on July 29, 1968, which killed 82 people and destroyed two villages. Since then, it has seen regular activity and, depending on the day or week, visitors can expect to see anything from a cloud of ash to glowing red lava flowing down the mountain. The park is also known for its wide range of biodiversity with approximately half of all Costa Rican birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals represented somewhere within its boundaries. Bali is an incredible country, so much history, a must see for any travel fan. Every day in Bali’s predawn darkness, hundreds of visitors begin the trek up the 1,700-meter summit of Mount Batur to watch the sun rise above the lush mosaic of mist-shrouded mountains and the caldera far below. This sacred active volcano lies in Kintamani District in Bali’s central highlands, about an hour’s drive from Ubud, and the hike to the summit to watch the sunrise has long graced the list of top things to do in Bali. The hike along the well-marked trails is relatively easy and usually takes about two to three hours. Guided treks typically include a picnic breakfast, with eggs cooked by the steam from the active volcano. On a clear day, the views are spectacular, stretching all the way across the Batur caldera; the surrounding mountain range; and beautiful Lake Batur, the island’s main source of irrigation water.
